Math is everywhere, even in art!  Artist Dan Gogh will demonstrate how artists use math in their everyday artwork, providing your students with a fascinating insight into the connection between these two subjects. But it doesn’t stop there! Your students will also have the chance to draw alongside Dan, unleashing their creativity while reinforcing the fundamental math concepts they’ve already learned.  It’s like having a math superhero guiding them through the creative process!  It’s an educational experience that is both enriching and fun – a true win-win!

Now, let’s talk about the math concepts that will be covered during the program. The content is grade-specific and focuses on important mathematical concepts such as shapes, symmetry, and fractions. In addition, Dan may touch upon other intriguing concepts like sequences, ratios, tessellations, and fractals. Rest assured, all the content meets state standards for math and art for grades K-5.

But what will your students actually draw? Well, that depends on their grade level. Art created during the program may include animal designs, cartoons, superheroes, and even the human face. And here’s an exciting twist – if you have a staff member or star student that you would like to make the star of the show, Dan will draw a larger-than-life caricature of them as a part of the program. If you have any specific requests, whether listed or not, just let Dan know and he’ll do his best to incorporate them into the show!

Now, you might be wondering if the program is solely focused on drawing. Fear not! Dan understands the importance of variety during a presentation. With his rich knowledge of art and experience as a performer, he keeps things entertaining by incorporating props and activities. Your students will be engaged and captivated throughout the entire session.

This program is suitable for students from Pre-K through 12th grade. Whether you have young learners or high school seniors, Dan will tailor the content to meet their needs and ensure an unforgettable experience- he’s got something for everyone!  And if you prefer a virtual visit, Dan is ready to connect with you online too.  No matter where your school is located, Dan can connect with your students remotely and deliver the program with the same level of enthusiasm and interactivity.

So, let’s make math and art come alive for your students. We would love to hear more about your specific needs and how we can customize the program for your school. Please fill out the form below, and Dan will personally connect with you right away!

"Dan is one of the best presenters we have ever had at Central Road School! He is talented artist, and a natural teacher. The kids loved every minute of this assembly, and were all smiles as they each left with the wonderful drawings that Dan helped them create. We all appreciated his wit and humor, and his message that everybody can draw!

"It was great to see all of the students actively involved in an assembly where they were able to follow simple steps for creating a drawing that they were proud of. We try to cultivate creativity in our school, and this assembly provided students with an opportunity to unlock a creative side they might not know they had."

"Dan’s visit to Lincolnwood Elementary was a huge success! Students were encouraged to create their own real, life superheroes.  He kept the students engaged as they were included in the design of each element.  We were blown away by Dan’s ability to cram so much punch into such a short time frame. Art teachers have such limited time with students – it was nice offering more opportunities for students to expand their artistry and ask questions from a working artist."

“Dan gave an engaging and interactive workshop for all of our kindergarten through fifth grade students.  Everyone enjoyed his talk and lessons on the importance of creativity and ability everyone has to draw.  His step by step instructions and demonstrations held everyone’s interest and was also entertaining.  I highly recommend his workshops for any age.”
